📝 Introduction
In Bihar, admission to engineering colleges is primarily done through two methods:
- UGEAC – Based on JEE Main score (for 4 year btech plan)
- BCECE – Through BCECE Exam (for remaining seats in colleges for 4 year btech plan & for lateral entery courses)
✅ Mode 1: UGEAC (via JEE Main)
The most common route for admission to Bihar Government Engineering Colleges is through UGEAC, conducted by BCECE Board. It is based on your JEE Main rank.
Eligibility:
- Appeared in JEE Main (same year)
- Passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics (compulsory)
- Must be a domicile of Bihar
Admission Process:
- Appear in JEE Main
- Register for UGEAC on bceceboard.bihar.gov.in
- Pay counselling fee and fill choices
- Seat allotment & document verification
- Report to allotted college

- JEE Main Scorecard
- 10th & 12th Marksheet
- Domicile Certificate (Bihar)
- Caste/EWS Certificate (if applicable)
- Photo, Allotment letter, Application form
📘 Mode 2: BCECE Entrance Exam
The BCECE Board also conducts its own entrance exam – BCECE – for admission for remaining seats in engineering colleges and lateral entry courses.
Who Can Apply:
- Students who didn't appear in JEE but want admission in certain Engineering colleges
- Candidates interested in 4th year B tech or Lateral Entry programs
Admission Process via BCECE:
- Apply for BCECE Exam at bceceboard.bihar.gov.in
- Appear for written entrance exam
- Get rank in PCM group
- Participate in BCECE counselling
- Choose colleges and complete admission
